Chess Group
Members are exposed to the etiquette of play as well as being coached in the various technicalities of the game. Students are encouraged to use the internet to help development of problem solving skills.
Students will:
- Learn to win or lose with grace – social skills
- Learn to focus under extreme pressure
- Develop mental facility
- Learn that success comes with persistent study and planning, as well as practice.
Location: Tech Foyer

Bush Rangers
Part of Cadets WA and attached to C.A.L.M. Bush Rangers has the following aim "to empower young West Australians to take an active role in the conservation of the natural environment and to understand the need for its management".
Students will:
- Learn a conservations ethic through participation in practical conservation projects
- Develop leadership and team skills and learn the values of duty, loyalty and service to the community, school and Bush Rangers.
- Learn skills and knowledge relating to the functions and role of C.A.L.M.
- Gain the basis for an active commitment to conservation into adult life, through appropriate training and supervision.
Location: Based in school with field trips and camps
Offered: Any student of High School age
